New Recordings in Progress

April 16, 2007
So, my writing partner, Eddie was harassing me the other day about how little "news" I put up on my site... so, having been shamed into it (and it’s really true—I try to spend as little time on the computer as possible—which explains why I don’t have MySpace!), “I submit:” (and not just that we “fit like an oven mitt”) that I have completed two more songs that will be mixed tomorrow. They are “Come a Runnin’” & “I Don’t Want to be Lonely”. I initially recorded them to be country demos, but then Eddie said he thinks I should put them on my new record! I’ll let you guys tell me what you think, eh? I’ll put the new mixes up as soon as I get them.
‘Til then…

Near Final Mixes

December 15, 2006
Today, I put up the 92% mixes of the five tunes we’ve been finessing during the last couple months: Charlie Chadwick has been doing a superb job of engineering, Pat Bergeson has been adding some finishing touches with guitar, I have been adding background vocal parts (which, I have discovered, is my favorite part of this process) and we’ve mixed in all the very tasty vibes tracks by Steve Shapiro. I’m very proud of these recordings.
There s just the final session to bless the mixes and then… AND THEN… start again with a whole ‘nother set of tunes… I’ve been massaging and coaching these little melodies and lyrics out of their little shy place. I’ve been doing a lot of lyric-writing, but Eddie Mugavero has been guiding and encouraging me through. Sometimes, by the shear nature of his being unavailable to get together, I have learned to find those lyrics on my own. God bless him for his part in allowing me to nurture my own abilities as lyricist! Let’s see, the next batch of tunes will include:
Infatuation (w/Eddie)…, All I’m Dreamin’ (w/Eddie), Dream Wonderland, This Crush as well as “I Don’t Want to Be Lonely” and “Come A Runnin’”, more country-esque tunes I wrote years ago. I’ll be pitching these to country artists… I mean, now that I’m back in Nashville, that’s what folks DO here, after all.
I’ll be going back out on the road with Muriel in January to attend the NAMM conference in Anaheim and do a few concerts up and down California. And the bonus is, I get to see my friends and family while I’m at it.
Currently, I’m working on getting a few concerts here in Nashville where Pat & Charlie and I can showcase all this glorious original material. Stay tuned for more info on that.
I hope you all stay safe and warm this holiday season and will get to share time with your loved ones.

Man, things are sounding so great! The more we do, the more excited I get about the project.
Yesterday, Tommy did some more drum work and Pat put some killing guitar parts on "Forever But Tonight" and "Share My Blues". I added some harmonies to "Mississippi", "Share My Blues" and "Bareback Promenade." It's really coming together! And the vibes tracks recently added by Steve Shapiro really set the music apart. Stay tuned for more mixes and more tunes...!

What fun that was... doing shows with Muriel in my old stomping grounds!

Got to visit sister, Sally, in San Luis Obispo, Mom & Dad in Big Sur, and walk through the redwoods in Felton. Don't you love this flattering picture? "... lemme see, now...." click! oh well, you get the idea. Now, it's back to the new project, tweaking and mixing the 5 tunes we have, then finishing writing the several more we have yet to record.

This is one of my favorite quotes. It inspires me; I hope it inspires you, too.
Rebecca
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
1st Nashville Performance in almost a year!

May 24, 2006
Hi!
I'll be doing two shows in June at F. Scott's. Both Mondays, the 5th and the 19th. What's especially exciting about it is that I'll be doing an entire set of original tunes, some of which I wrote with my genius songwriter and dear friend, Eddie Mugavero. Come hear them! And the icing on the cake, is having the same brilliant musicians I've been recording with, on these performances. Pat Berguson (guitar), Tommy Giampietro (drums) and Charlie Chadwick (bass).
Yes, it's true, I took "the summer" off from performing and it turned into almost an entire year. But, I was not sitting on the couch eating Chunky Monkey out of the carton and watching Oprah... oh wait a minute, I actually did do that. Come to think of it, i need to run out to the store...
But seriously, I've been writing a bunch of new tunes, and recording a few of them on recent trips to Nashville. You can hear the ROUGH, and i mean, ROUGH mixes on this site. I can't wait to play them for you all!
I have nearly neglected my website of late, but with my new host, updating it will be much more fun and instantaneous. I'm looking forward to seeing you in June.
Blessings to you,
Rebecca
